Good photographs set the scene while an exceptional one blocks out the novel using the unspoken language of humanity. I am not interested in creating mass market, comfortable photography. I am interested in creating images which force the viewer to think. It is way too easy to take beautiful pictures of beautiful people and things. It is far more interesting, I think, to discover the stories which have been hidden or disregarded.
Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable.
